This year’s exhibition featured over 900 exhibitors and over 1000 visitors from 100 countries around the world. Prince Valiant International Corporation is a proud sponsor of University of Mindanao's entry at Shell Ecomarathon Asia 2018 with vehicle name Lumad 4.0.
An article from the facebook page of LUMAD 4.0 of SEMA 2018 reads...
"SINGAPORE - More than 120 student teams from 18 countries were gathered in Changi Exhibition Centre, Singapore from March 7 to 11, 2018 to compete in this year’s Shell Eco-marathon Asia, a global competition challenging students to push the boundaries of energy efficiency. There were two categories in the main event; these were Urban Concept and Prototype category. Team UM with their vehicle named Lumad 4.0 was under the prototype category where drivers squeezed into low-slung cars, lying on their backs to steer around the 1.20 km custom-built track.
Out of 31 teams from 15 countries, Team UM finished 15th place under Prototype – Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) category.
The team got their best result with 145.5 km/l in just 3 attempts finishing 2nd highest result in the Philippine team following UST Eco-Tigers I of University of Santo Tomas with 352 km/l of this category."
